Africa 10XG Foundation partners with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) to equip children and teenagers with ethical leadership, health literacy, and resilience.

Across Africa, the Church is at the heart of many communities, with worship at its centre. It is where faith is celebrated, generations come together, relationships are built, and young people gain a sense of identity and belonging. Here, values are nurtured, and responsibility towards others is encouraged.

For Africa 10XG Foundation, this makes the Church a crucial partner in preparing Africa's next generation of ethical leaders.

On 13 September 2026, Africa 10XG Foundation will partner with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) in Nigeria's Afolabi community to deliver Roots to Resilience: Ethical Leadership and Health Literacy for Rural Children and Teens.

The event is scheduled for September 13, 2026, at 3 PM WAT. Text reads: “Roots to Resilience: Ethical Leadership and Health Literacy for Rural Children and Teens” and “Empowering NextGen African Leaders.” Logos for the foundation, Fire Aid Foundation, and UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 appear at the top.

The programme will bring together children and teenagers aged 7–18 for age-appropriate learning focused on ethical leadership, health literacy, resilience, mentorship, and responsible participation in their communities.

When trusted community institutions and development organisations work together, we create stronger foundations from which young people can grow.

The Church as a partner in raising the next generation

Across sub-Saharan Africa, millions of children and teenagers are growing up with significant gaps in the support and opportunities available to them. One in five children of primary-school age is out of school, and only two in three complete primary school by age 15. The region also has the highest adolescent birth rate in the world.

Yet school and health are only part of the picture. Young people are making decisions about friendships, identity, health, education, and their futures while facing influences that extend far beyond their immediate communities and countries.

Two children stand outdoors under an overcast sky. One, wearing a red-and-blue sports jersey, smiles while leaning forward with both hands resting on the shoulders of the other child, who wears a dark patterned shirt and faces away from the camera.

They need knowledge, but they also need values, trusted guidance, and people willing to walk alongside them.

Churches are uniquely placed to contribute to this journey.

Their presence within communities enables consistent engagement with children, teenagers, and families. Alongside spiritual development, they can reinforce values such as honesty, compassion, accountability, service, and respect, while providing positive role models and space for important conversations.

Through this partnership, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) brings community reach, while Africa 10XG provides structured learning in ethical leadership, youth development, and practical life skills.

Together, they aim to equip young people with the character, knowledge, and confidence to make choices that strengthen their lives and communities.

From ethical leadership to everyday choices

Ethical leadership can sometimes sound like a subject reserved for governments, boardrooms or people in senior positions.

We believe it begins much earlier.

For a child or teenager, leadership may mean choosing honesty when dishonesty appears easier, resisting harmful peer pressure, treating another person with respect, accepting responsibility for a mistake, or having the courage to make a healthier choice.

These everyday decisions help shape character.

Three smiling young people stand together outdoors in front of a brick building. One wears a gray T-shirt, another a bright yellow T-shirt, and the third a white T-shirt with black pants, laughing and leaning playfully toward the group.

The ethical leadership component of Roots to Resilience will explore values, honesty, accountability, empathy, respect, service, corruption and its effects, responsible decision-making and community-minded leadership.

Alongside this, age-appropriate health literacy sessions will help young people better understand hygiene, prevention, self-care, substance misuse prevention, reproductive health awareness, disease prevention, credible sources of information and when and where to seek help.

Children under nine will participate in a separate age-appropriate section, ensuring that learning remains relevant and accessible across age groups.

Resilient communities are strengthened when young people have the values to make responsible decisions and the knowledge to make informed ones.

Learning that continues beyond the room

Roots to Resilience has been designed as a participatory experience rather than a one-way presentation.

Young people will be encouraged to ask questions, reflect on values, learn alongside their peers and engage with mentors. Pre- and post-session assessments and participant feedback will help Africa 10XG understand what has changed as a result of the intervention and where future programmes can be strengthened.

Importantly, the learning is intended to travel.

Teenage participants will be encouraged to share key lessons with two peers following the programme, extending the reach of the intervention beyond those physically present on the day.

Five smiling children stand together outdoors in a lush green setting. They wear colorful casual clothing, with the tallest child in a bright blue patterned dress. The group poses closely, smiling warmly at the camera.

The intended outcomes include stronger ethical decision-making, improved health knowledge, greater resilience against harmful behaviours and peer pressure, increased confidence and communication, and a stronger sense of responsibility towards the wider community.

Partnership that reaches communities and changes lives

At Africa 10XG Foundation, we believe Africa's dormant potential will not be unlocked by organisations working in isolation.

It will be unlocked through collaboration.

That means working with churches and faith communities, schools, educational institutions, businesses, community organisations, professionals, sponsors, donors and others who share a commitment to developing people and strengthening communities.

Two smiling children featured on an Africa 10XG Foundation poster promoting “Ethical Leadership, Stronger Communities” and the Roots to Resilience initiative, focused on ethical leadership and health literacy for rural children and teens.

Our partnership with Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) reflects that belief.

MFM brings established community relationships, reach, and trust, while Africa 10XG brings structured development programmes designed to equip people with knowledge, values, and practical tools.

Together, these strengths can create something neither partner could achieve in quite the same way alone.

By combining these strengths around a shared purpose, we can translate partnership into meaningful action within communities.

From roots to resilience

The name Roots to Resilience reflects a simple idea.

When young people develop strong roots—values, knowledge, positive relationships, mentorship and a sense of responsibility—they are better prepared to face challenges, make sound decisions and recognise the opportunities ahead of them.

The 13 September, 2026 outreach is one step in that journey.

Following the programme, Africa 10XG Foundation will share a fuller account of the initiative, including the learning experience, participant engagement and insights from our pre- and post-impact assessment. This will help us understand not simply what was delivered, but what difference it made and what we can learn for future community interventions.

For now, we celebrate the partnership that makes this opportunity possible.

Transforming Africa will require more than ambition. It will require organisations willing to work together, trusted institutions prepared to open their doors, and communities willing to invest in their children.

Africa's potential already exists within its people.

Our collective responsibility is to help unlock it.

Partner with Africa 10XG Foundation

If you represent a church, school, community organisation, corporate organisation, foundation or institution that shares our commitment to ethical leadership, youth development and sustainable community impact, we welcome conversations about collaboration.

Together, we can take practical programmes into more communities, equip more young people to make informed, values-based decisions, and build partnerships whose impact endures long after an individual programme has ended.

Africa 10XG Foundation believes in partnerships that impact communities, change lives and help unlock Africa's dormant potential.
